Associate Principal Horn

This Position is only open to Australian citizens or permanent residents and New Zealand citizens.

Auditions will be held across two rounds: video and live.

The first-round video audition is due on Monday 25 January 2021, and the second-round live audition will be in Brisbane on Tuesday 9 March. An accompanist will be provided at the live auditions.

Shortlisting

All applicants are required to submit a recorded audition as part of the shortlisting process.

Set works (to be performed with piano accompaniment)

Mozart Horn Concerto No.4

  • First Movement with cadenza

Strauss Horn Concerto No.1

  • Complete work

Orchestral excerpts (to be performed solo)

Associate Principal Horn orchestral excerpts

The Round 1 excerpt list will be announced on Wednesday 23 December and distributed via email once your application has been received.

Recorded Audition

First-round recorded auditions will be accepted as Audio-Video only and must be received by QSO by close of business Monday 25 January.

Live Audition

QSO will advise applicants after the first-round recorded auditions if they are required to attend the live audition on Tuesday 9 March.

Position Description: you may review the roles and responsibilities of this position in our current Enterprise Agreement. 

Salary range: (Australian Dollars) $83,054.00 plus 9.5% superannuation, plus allowances.
