Hugo Tang

Queensland Ballet Academy Dancer

Hugo Tang

Hugo took his first ballet class at the age of eight in Hong Kong, with intent to improve his posture and body movement to prepare for becoming a professional figure skater.

Surprisingly, this ignited Hugo’s passion for ballet. The experience of performing as a child dancer with Hong Kong Ballet in a few major productions inspired Hugo to pursue ballet as a professional career. Since then, Hugo has been determined to learn more about the artform, seeking full-time training through his academic schooling.

Hugo was accepted into Queensland Ballet Academy's Senior Program in January 2020 - a milestone for Hugo to have his dream come true. The professional training received at Queensland Ballet Academy has been intensively developing Hugo's skills to the highest artistic and technical standards, leading him on the right track in his career.

It is a privilege for Hugo to take a part in Queensland Symphony Orchestra’s The Peasant Prince. He is has been enjoying the experience of rehearsing for this great production and looks forward to bringing Li Cunxin AO’s story and Paul Boyd’s choreography to life.
