The University of Queensland Singers

​The UQ Singers encompasses all of the emerging artists majoring in classical singing at The University of Queensland.

They have performed with Brisbane orchestras in projects such as Bach’s St. Matthew Passion and Ascension Oratorio, Purcell’s Dido and Aeneas and The Fairy Queen, Charpentier’s Te Deum, and Handel’s Messiah. They have also been a part of Opera galas such as Ormiston House Opera by the Bay Gala and Opera in the Upper House with International opera stars Rosario la Spina, Milijana Nikolic, Sarah Crane and Andrew Collis. The group has toured to China to perform with the Xi’an Symphony Orchestra and Xi’an Symphony Chorus as well as touring to regional areas such as Cairns and Tenterfield to help promote music education and vocal performance. The UQ Singers are under the direction of Shaun Brown.
