Mozart's Jupiter

Engage

For those with an advanced level of music knowledge. Engage in the full concert hall experience and enjoy the power of the full symphonic repertoire and internationally renowned conductors and soloists.

The story goes that an early listener to Mozart’s Symphony No.41 heard the opening flourishes and was reminded of the Roman god Jupiter and his thunderbolts. The name stuck, and this symphony, one of the greatest pieces of orchestral music ever written, has been known as the Jupiter Symphony ever since.

Featured alongside this classical masterpiece will be Britten's gorgeous Les Illuminations, performed by Australian soprano, Emma Pearson. This performance also includes the dramatic overture to Mozart’s opera Don Giovanni.
