Musical Sorcery

For those with an advanced level of music knowledge. Engage in the full concert hall experience and enjoy the power of the full symphonic repertoire and internationally renowned conductors and soloists.

Movies can play a big role in introducing us to classical music, sometimes without us realising it! Paul Dukas’ cheeky work The Sorcerer’s Apprentice will now forever be associated with Mickey Mouse and his wizard hat in Fantasia. Likewise, the spectacular Saint-Saëns’ Organ Symphony provided composer Nigel Westlake with the main tune for the soundtrack from Babe. Your students can enjoy both of these works in their full original versions as well as the amazing horn playing Stefan Dohr, Principal Horn of the Berlin Philharmonic, who will be performing Richard Strauss’ Horn Concerto No.1.
