#We’re excited to present the premiere of a new work by acclaimed Australian didgeridoo player and composer, William Barton.
The sound of this majestic instrument will fill the concert hall, in a performance that also features Wagner’s dramatic Overture to The Flying Dutchman and the mighty Fifth Symphony by Sibelius.
There is a tale that the finale of this Finnish masterpiece was inspired by the call of swans. That may well be true, but the journey this musical work takes you on transcends any simple explanation. It’s otherworldly, beautiful and triumphant - all in one package. It feels as if it comes from the icy landscapes of Finland and yet the music is universal.
