A message of thanks from
Chris Freeman AM, Chair
On behalf of our Musicians, our Management and Staff and the Board of Queensland Symphony Orchestra (QSO), I would like to sincerely thank you for your generosity and support.
Not only will this reinforce our 2020 activities, but it gives us confidence to move forward and plan for some of our best work in 2021 and beyond.
Clearly these are critical years, as we continue to be challenged by the impact of COVID-19. In this regard, I am proud of the commitment of Craig Whitehead, and the entire QSO team, one and all, who have worked through this difficult period and who will take us forward with our quest to ensure that we deliver world class performances across Queensland.
Last year we launched our music and wellbeing program. There has been significant research into the benefits of music and how it can positively impact lovers of music. QSO is pursuing this important community initiative. As part of the QSO family you will hear more about this in the coming months.
We will continue to deliver our online digital orchestral experiences and this will be an important task to ensure that regional Queensland remains connected to the QSO. We also know there is no experience, visually or audibly, like that of our symphony orchestra performing live in the amazing QPAC Concert Hall.
It is a great privilege to be part of the QSO and I look forward to many future opportunities to join with you and be enriched by those musical experiences.
I thank you – not only for your financial support, but for your belief in the future of the Queensland Symphony Orchestra.
Chris Freeman AM,
