Current Vacancies

Section Principal Flute

This position is open to applicants of all nationalities.

Auditions to be held in Brisbane on Wednesday 31 October 2018. Applicants are required to be available for the whole day and an accompanist will be provided on request.

Recorded Auditions

Recorded auditions will be accepted as Audio/Video only and must be received by Queensland Symphony Orchestra by close of business Monday 22 October 2018. Details will be advised on application.

Shortlisting

Applicants may be required to attend a Shortlisting round which will be held on Monday 29 October 2018. All applicants required for Shortlisting auditions must be available for the whole day.

Audition Requirements

  • Mozart Concerto for Flute in G K.313 or D K.314, First and Second movements performed with piano reduction including cadenzas; AND
  • Own choice movement from any Flute Concerto performed with piano reduction;
  • Orchestral excerpts (to be performed solo);
  • Sight reading may also be requested

Orchestral excerpts will be available for applicants via download or as hardcopy on request from the week of Monday 3 September 2018.

Salary range: (Australian Dollars) $94,612 to $98,917 package including 9.5% superannuation, plus allowances.

Outbound Sales Consultants

Queensland Symphony Orchestra is looking for part time outbound sales people to help promote upcoming performances and our concert seasons!  We need experienced, articulate, friendly lovers of the performing arts with a real passion for sales to join our successful team.

To be successful in your application you must be able to work 12-16 hours per week, 4pm -8pm Monday to Friday commencing immediately with a three to six month commitment.

Ideally you will have telephone experience with inbound or outbound sales in a highly energised environment. Also, an interest in classical music is highly desirable. In return you can expect a fantastic place to work, good pay rates and an incentive structure that rewards excellent performance.
