Current Vacancies

Section Principal Viola

Position is only open to Australian citizens and permanent residents and New Zealand citizens.

Auditions will be held on Monday 3 September 2018. Applicants are required to be available for the whole day and an accompanist will be provided on request.

Audition Requirements

You will be required to perform two solo works with piano plus orchestral excerpts:

1. Select the first movement from one (1) of the following concerti, to be performed with piano accompaniment.

EITHER

  • BARTÓK  Viola Concerto  OR
  • HINDEMITH   Der Schwanendreher  OR
  • WALTON  Viola Concerto

AND

2. Schubert Arpeggione Sonata First Movement: Allegro moderato

AND

• Orchestral excerpts*

Outbound Sales Consultants

Queensland Symphony Orchestra is looking for part time outbound sales people to help promote upcoming performances and our concert seasons!  We need experienced, articulate, friendly lovers of the performing arts with a real passion for sales to join our successful team.

To be successful in your application you must be able to work 12-20 hours per week 4-8pm Monday to Friday commencing immediately with a six month commitment.

Ideally you will have telephone experience with inbound or outbound sales in a highly energised environment. Also, an interest in classical music is highly desirable. In return you can expect a fantastic place to work, good pay rates and an incentive structure that rewards excellent performance.
