Queensland Symphony Orchestra is Queensland’s largest performing arts company and the state’s only professional symphony orchestra. Principal First Violin

This position is open to applicants of all nationalities.

Auditions will be held in Brisbane on Monday 5 and Tuesday 6 August 2019. Applicants are required to be available for both days and an accompanist will be provided.

Shortlisting
Applicants may be required to attend a Shortlisting round to be held on Monday 5 August 2019. All applicants required for Shortlisting auditions must be available for the whole day.

Audition Requirements

  • Any Mozart Violin Concerto – 1st and 2nd movements with cadenzas (with accompanist)
  • Any Romantic Violin Concerto – 1st movement (with accompanist)
    AND
  • Orchestral excerpts

Associate Principal Trombone

This position is only open to Australian citizens and permanent residents and New Zealand citizens.

Applicants are advised this role includes both playing Second Trombone and leading the section on occasion as required. Auditions will be held in Brisbane on Monday 12 and Tuesday 13 August 2019. Applicants are required to be available for both days and an accompanist will be provided.

  • Gordon Jacob - Concerto for Trombone  (with piano accompaniment)
    1st movt - beginning to Letter M
    2nd movt - beginning to Letter E
  • Sarabande from Bach Cello Suite No.5
  • Orchestral excerpts (to be performed solo);
  • Sight reading may also be requested

Queensland Symphony Orchestra is looking for part time outbound sales people to help promote upcoming performances and our concert seasons!  We need experienced, articulate, friendly lovers of the performing arts with a real passion for sales to join our successful team.

To be successful in your application you must be able to work 12-16 hours per week, 4pm -8pm Monday to Friday commencing immediately with a three to six month commitment.

Ideally you will have telephone experience with inbound or outbound sales in a highly energised environment. Also, an interest in classical music is highly desirable. In return you can expect a fantastic place to work, good pay rates and an incentive structure that rewards excellent performance.
